Ghost Lines Project

"Ghost lines" is a movement practice that uses an archival impulse to conjure a vaudevillian past.

As a project, it manifests in a variety of ways – through film, live art happenings, live performance, as photos, drawings, and an ongoing freestyle movement practice.

    Dada ghost clown

    Non-sequitor

    Visual rhyming

    Collage

    Absurdity

    nonsense

    taking turns looking backward

    moving imperceptibly forward

    riming history

    scrambled body

picking moments out of a bag

    portraits isolated

    rupture

    ghost time

    land line

    no-one on the other side

    other side

    what’s on the other side

    is there time

    is there anything

    is there void

    is there full or empty

    is there light or shadow

    aching for rewind

    going back going back

    cycle round

absurd ways to catch those moments

    isolating body histories

    glimpses

    snapshots

turning dial and stopping on specific years

    capturing visual data

and unrolling it out of my sleeve

    archival process

    data connections

    going back over things

    getting stuck

    everything same value

    scrolling through records

    finding things

    recording things

    mapping things

    playing things

    cataloging things

    storing things

    uncovering things

what are the archival body actions?

    Dada erases order, meaning

Does not attempt to reconcile opposing forces

In the silence – sound of

    Throwing objects in the dark

    Seeing how they resonate

    Absurd foley art

    Dada sound

    Non-sequitor
